Baseball is all-American. It’s a pastime that’s been loved, revered, and shared by everyone in the country, in every state, in every city, and in every community. You’d be hard-pressed to find an American community where no one plays baseball.

It’s a great game to play, and children should be introduced to the sport as early as possible. Through baseball, children will learn the importance of being in a team. It’s a game with many health benefits, and it develops coordination as well. Kids learn important lessons such as focus and camaraderie. They learn how to win and lose. And for the most part, they have fun.

An important key here is to expose children to baseball early on. Take them to games, or watch it with them on television. Explain to them the mechanics of the game and teach them what each player on the field does.

Once a child becomes a baseball fan, the rest is easy. Buy some gear. A ball, a mitt, and a small bat will do at first. Play catch every once in a while in the backyard. Have them swing a few times so they can get a feel for it.

After that, he’ll be easy to convince to join a small league of children at the park. Be there and support him throughout the experience.
